Yousei Teikoku is an anison band, meaning they have a very specific set of places they’d go outside of Japan. How big is Brazil’s biggest anime convention? If it’s large enough, they’d probably go to that IF they ever go. However, as it stands they’d be most likely to get to Anime Expo in Los Angeles before anywhere else. You’ll hear about it here as soon as they announce an international ceremony, if they ever do. That’d be big news. They went to Pacific Media Expo in 2005, but that was back when they were totally unknown so it doesn’t -really- count. The, uh, the fascist imagery they use now doesn’t go over well outside of Japan. Kind of hard to book a band that dresses like goth Nazis (as well and as sensitively as they pull it off).
EYYYYYY MANG
It’s this.

Her English is infrequent and mostly unskilled, so get ready for some Japanese practice.
Yui-sama on Twitter just now.
NEW SONG! And it’s apparently hard being so talented!
I know I forget shit all the time, but I actually am translating that interview. Every time I sit down with it I’m not going to stop until a whole page is done, so it should be finished soon-ish. Yui-sama likes to speak in long sentences. Takaha spends most of the thing laughing.
Also, I found Ashita wo Yurushite at an anime store, and the game it’s from at another one. DID NOT KNOW it was an eroge, but that’s just fine and explains why the CD is so hard to get. Now all I need is Noble Roar and I’ll have ALL the Yousei Teikoku. Except Momo to Hane (Fun fact, it actually is “to” and not “no”. Says so on the cover.), Momo no Mori, and Shikou no Momo, because those probably don’t even exist anymore.
I’m not counting the compilations they show up on, either, because MOTHERFUCKERS KEEP COMING OUT AND I CAN’T KEEP UP WITH THAT SHIT.
So anyway, pics later.
The magazine doesn’t seem to exist anymore, but luckily I found one from 2007 with a Yousei Teikoku interview!
As far as I can tell, Yui-sama did not yet speak in the incredibly hard-to-understand way she does now, so I’m probably going to go ahead and translate it. When I’m done I’ll post it here.
Her first impression of Takaha was that he’s super tall! Hooray!
She was the white girl in the Mischievous of Alice PV. Apparently she was asked to be in it, but I was given no further details.
ALSO I’M AT INCHEON AIRPORT RIGHT NOW YEAAAAAAAAAH
Feel free to favorite it if you want; there are likely to be many Yousei Teikoku happenings while I’m over there. I’ll be in Tokyo, where the band lives, so… should be some stuff going on.
I just realized I haven’t brought this up, but on Thursday I will be leaving for Japan until July 30th. I know that Japan obviously has internet, but I am unsure regarding my host family’s level of connectivity. On one hand, they’re older people, so that’s not a good sign, but on the other hand they run a cafe out of their house, which IS a good sign. For internet.
Anyway, I may not be Tumbling as much during those four months, but I’ll be on as often as I can be. Tumblr is where I get K-pop pictures and those are positively vital to my existence. And speaking of K-pop, you fucking bet I’m gonna try and see some while I’m over there. I am also hoping as hard as I can hope that Yousei Teikoku will do something while I’m there so I can finally live my dream and see them live.
This is not an April Fool’s joke, as it is still the 31st in America and I don’t do April Fool’s anyway. I am seriously going to Japan.

The accompanying text for this one was pretty much Yui-sama’s version of “Gee I wonder whose dressing room door this is.”
It’s at A-Fes, apparently. I misread the date. DDDDDDDDD:
She’s very hard to understand because of the way she talks, but it’s mostly just standard “We weren’t in it last year, but we are this year, look forward to it, hope to see you there, etc” kind of things from what I gather.
It’s also sexy. I kind of died.
